South Perth are rivaling CBD heights with their latest development proposals to the DAP. These new developments anticipate an exciting transformation for the area.
Westbridge Property Group are proposing a 38 storey glass house, consisting of 148 apartments and a 70 room luxury hotel. This is set to be the tallest building outside of Perth's CBD. Finbar are also shifting their focus to South Perth with two new development proposals- 16 storey Aurelia Apartments at Mill Point Road, comprising of 118 apartments, and their $300 milion Civic Heart development at 1 Mends Street, which will comprise of 295 apartments and a shopping centre.
Jaxon have been awarded the contract for the $100 million Pinnacle Apartments, designed by Chinese developer Zone Q Investments. This 20 storey tower will boast 102 apartments and a seven level commercial building. Edge visionary living are also proposing a 29 level, 85 apartment project at 74 Mill Point Road.
Damian Stone from Master Builders Association WA, says the global trend is shifting towards high-density, inner city living and "the only way in the future is up". In MBAWA's recent 'Perth High Density Apartment Report', it was found that a total of 256 projects are currently either under construction, approved for development, or in the planning process in Perth, with the potential to add 20,227 apartments by 2020.
